Losing Weight – Losing 20 Pounds Fast – Uncovered
We all know people who appear to sail through life, happily moving from one success to the next. And yet there are others who fail at just about anything they have a go at – but can always tell you why it wasn’t their fault. Our civilisation is made up of victors and victims. The difference between the two can very often be reduced to one key thing, and that’s attitude.
When embarking on a slimming regime, it’s critical to take on the outlook of the victor to get your result. A victim will try half-heartedly to lose weight – never actually believing they’ll be slim. The victors mentally commit to a successful outcome, and support their actions with feeling.
Visualise the finale of a tennis championship, where the player’s attitudes are as follows: The first says “It’s my final chance – I’ll give it what I can,” but the second says “It is my Destiny to WIN.” Guess who’ll win the tournament?
‘Oar’ can be used to describe a victor who paddles his way to the winning post. O is for ownership, A is for accountability and R is for responsibility. We can define the victim by the word BED (Blame, Excuses and Denial) – a person who stays in bed and gives up.
Not relying on others, but taking ownership of the job is a strong characteristic of a victor. He takes account of his actions by taking them seriously. He sees things through by tackling problems instead of creating them. He doesn’t take excuses from himself and is responsible for the outcome of his activities.
In the victim’s eyes, there’s always a reason why he doesn’t achieve, and it’s seldom to do with himself. It’s always someone else’s fault – he feels out of control so justifies it by blaming someone else. He always makes excuse for his lack of performance, but the only person he’s persuading is himself. After repeating this pattern of blame and excuses for long enough, the victim lives a life of denial, convinced that there’s absolutely nothing he can do about his situation.
People approaching a life-changing diet and exercise program need to give themselves a mental work-out, to stack the odds in their favour. To really embrace the health-enhancing program, any traces of the victim syndrome have to be wiped out.
Continual positive repetition will change a victim’s attitude to that of a victor. Pay attention to what you’re saying to yourself – if you sound like a victim, then stop dead! Instead, mentally verbalise why you can be successful. Nobody else is superior to you – some have just conquered their victimisation thinking and achieved their success.
We don’t start out as victors, we learn the habits of victors to accomplish our goals. In order to maintain successful weight management, we first have to maintain a successful attitude.
